Doch mit der "Star Wars"-Welt ist damit noch lange nicht Schluß. Spielfilme soll es in den nächsten Jahren nicht geben, doch für die Wartezeit auf neue Kinoabenteuer der Jedi-Ritter, ihren Feinden und Kollegen sind gleich mehrere Serien für den neuen Streamingdienst Disney+ geplant, darunter das in Nordamerika bereits 2019 gestartete "The Mandalorian". Zum Abschluß der klassischen, neun Filme in drei Trilogien umfassende Sternenkrieger-Saga blicken wir aber erst einmal auf die Geschichte von 1977 bis 2019 zurück. Star Wars: Die Originaltrilogie1977 hat alles begonnen: Am 25. Mai 1977 startete "Star Wars" in den Kinos. Noch ohne den späteren Namenszusatz "Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope". Auch in Deutschland hieß der Film schlicht "Krieg der Sterne". Die Produzenten rechneten mit einem Flop, doch obwohl "Star Wars" nur in wenigen Lichtspielhäusern startete, wurde er zum großen Erfolg. Sechs Oscars folgten, heute gilt "Krieg der Sterne" neben "Der Exorzist" und "Der weiße Hai" als Geburtshelfer des modernen Genre-Blockbusters, der nach dem Untergang des klassischen Hollywoods in den 60er-Jahren die Traumfabrik rettete. Worum geht es: Unter Aufsicht des bösen Darth Vader baut das Imperium an der ultimativen Waffe, dem Todesstern. Der unbedarfte Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Jedi-Ritter Obi-Wan Kenobi (Altstar Sir Alec Guinness) und Weltraumschmuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) schlagen sich auf die Seite der Rebellen… 1980 folgte Teil zwei, nach offizieller Zählung Episode V: "Das Imperium schlägt zurück", für viele Fans der beste Film der Reihe. Darth Vader vertreibt die Rebellen um Han Solo vom Eisplaneten. Luke will sich von Yoda zum Jedi-Ritter ausbilden lassen… Der Film endet mit dem berühmten Zitat "Ich bin dein Vater" (nicht "Luke, ich bin dein Vater", wie viele glauben). 1983 endete dann die Ur-Trilogie mit "Die Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter": Das Imperium stellt einen neuen Todesstern her, um die Aufständischen in die Knie zu zwingen.
