If the answer is YES, Miravida Living offers an on-site, free Nursing Assistant class through Fox Valley Technical College. The Technical Diploma (TD) is awarded after the successful completion of the course at no cost to the student. Miravida Living assumes the cost of the class, books, uniform and certification exam. Following the course, students are required to work a minimum of 32 hours every 2 weeks for 1 year. You will learn to bathe, dress, feed and transport people; obtain pulse and temperature; and report observations and reactions to the health care team. Nursing assistants prepare equipment, take care of the patient’s room and maintain patient records. You may assist people living with dementia and rehabilitation needs, and provide restorative care to help them maintain independence.
