Terms in this set (6)Phase 1 One must conduct a preliminary analysis. To do this, one must determine the organization's objectives and the nature of the problems under study. Then one must propose alternative solutions by evaluating competitor's performances and conducting interviews. With the data gathered, the system can be left as is, improved, or a new system can develop. Next, one must describe the cost and the benefits to the firm. Costs may depend on benefits, which may offer savings. Lastly, one must submit a preliminary plan in which all findings are included. The reader then determines the next move. Phase 2 One must gather data by receiving documents and conducting interviews etc. After the data has been gathered, it must be analyzed by the systems analyst. The analyst will write a report submitting the required document to the next phase. Phase 3 One must create a preliminary design or prototype to begin testing to determine what flaws may have occurred in the plan and how to fix it. Once that is determined, a detailed design that is fully functioning will then be made. A report is then written encasing the design specifications and is handed over to senior management. Phase 4 One has to acquire or develop the software. The "make or buy" decision is addressed to determine whether to create or buy a new program. Once the software has been chosen, one must acquire the hardware or upgrade the existing one to facilitate the new software. After the software and hardware have been placed together, the firm begins testing the system in two stages: unit testing and system testing. Phase 5 The firm must convert to the new system. This can happen in four different strategies: direct, parallel, phased and pilot. After converting to the new software, employees need to be trained in order to be able to use the software. Phase 6 The firm must maintain the system. Maintenance adjusts and improves the system by have system audits and periodic evaluations and by making changes based on new conditions. ADVANCED MATH Each of the following passages contains a single argument. Using the letters “P” and “C,” identify the premises and conclusion of each argument, writing premises first and conclusion last. List the premises in the order in which they make the most sense (usually the order in which they occur), and write both premises and conclusion in the form of separate declarative sentences. Indicator words may be eliminated once premises and conclusion have been appropriately labeled. Every art and every inquiry, and similarly every action and pursuit, is thought to aim at some good; and for this reason the good has rightly been declared to be that at which all things aim. Which phase in the system development is the task of acquiring hardware and software? The system design phase consists of developing a model of the new system and performing a detailed analysis of benefits and costs. Once the system is designed, the analyst must decide from which vendors to buy the necessary hardware and software. This decision is made in the system acquisition phase.
During which phase of system life cycle are user trained to use the new system?Implementation Phase
Implementation includes user notification, user training, installation of hardware, installation of software onto production computers, and integration of the system into daily work processes.
What are the phases in the systems development life cycle quizlet?SDLC has seven main phases: Planning, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, and Maintenance.
