BACKGROUND
The Munich Security Conference is the world's leading forum for debating
international security policy. It is a venue for diplomatic initiatives
to address the world's most pressing security concerns.

During its main conference in February, the MSC assembles more than 450
senior decision-makers as well as thought leaders from around the world,
including heads of state, ministers, leading personalities of
international and non-governmental organizations, high-ranking
representatives from business, the media, academia, and civil society to
debate pressing issues of international security policy.

The 58th Munich Security Conference (MSC) was held from February 18 to 20, 2022, at its usual venue in Munich, the Hotel Bayerischer Hof.

The MSC 2022 will be different from the conferences of previous years. It will not only be held in a reduced format with fewer guests, fewer media representatives, and smaller delegations travelling to Munich, but will also introduce a number of innovative participatory formats to complement the traditional activities. The focus on high-level participation, maximum interaction and a carefully curated mix of public and off-the-record formats will remain. 

Our world is in danger. Traditional certainties are crumbling, threats and vulnerabilities are multiplying, and the rules-based order is increasingly under attack. The need for dialogue has never been greater.

The health of all stakeholders involved in the main conference as well as the Munich public is of paramount importance. Together with the conference partners and in close consultation with the relevant authorities, we are working on a comprehensive health and safety concept containing strict hygiene measures.
