 Russell Stafford is a minor antagonist in Walker, Texas Ranger, appearing as the main antagonist of the episode "99th Ranger". He is the violent and abusive husband to police officer and later Texas Ranger Roberta "Bobby" Hunt and the father of Angela Hunt and he tried desperately to kill them both. He served as the episode's main antagonist. Show He was played by Jeff Kober BiographyAt some point before the episode, Russell Stafford was a private investigator and married Bobby when she was a rookie officer of the Fort Worth Police Department and after that, they had a daughter named Angela. One day, he saw his dreams being crushed and his private investigation business was on the and he hired out to loan sharks and he saw his dreams go down the drain; he started doing cocaine and drinking alcohol and then he started to abuse both Bobby and Angela and began taking it out on them as well and one day, he killed a man outside of a bar by beating him to death and was sentenced to six years in prison. Since then, she divorced him, she changed her married name back to her maiden name and she gained full custody of Angela. 99th RangerStafford first appears when he sees Bobby walking out of the steps of the courthouse by Texas Ranger Cordell Walker and then getting into his truck; he watches them leave and has viewers wondering what he's going to do. Later, after Walker drops Bobby off at her house, he says goodbye to the Hunt's and drives past Stafford's car as he is smoking a cigar. The next day, Stafford appears at his daughter's softball game, watching from the fence where he sees his ex-wife on the bleachers cheering for Angela when he sees Walker approaching Bobby and asks her if she can go to the gym and work out. She says yes, but after Angela's game. After she hits a home run, Bobby and Walker cheer for her and Stafford storms off and heads to his car. He appears again when he visits his wife's mother's house and the two have a talk. Bobby orders him to leave as a warning, but he continues and threatens to hurt both her and Angela. She attempts to hit him, but he misses and gives her a choke hold. He lets her go and tells her that he'll be back. When Walker hears about this, he, along with Trivette and Alex issue a temporary restraining order against him. Walker tracks him down at an arena where he's working as a security guard. Walker, tells him to leave her alone, which he asks if it's supposed to scare him. After a few tense moments, he and Walker, along with a few other security guards, begin to fight with Walker ending up emerging as the victor and telling him to stay away from her. Later that night, a police officer is at his apartment to issue him the TRO, but when he does, he pulls out a knife and kills the cop by stabbing him in the stomache then drags him into his room. Afterwards, he called Bobby to tell him how sorry he was but later that night after she returned home, she finds out that Stafford is in her house and tied up Bobby's mother. When Walker sees his car, he makes a U-turn and races back to her house. When searching Angela's room, he appears behind her and punches her in the face and after asking her how she turned her back on him, she asks him where her daughter is, which he replies he killed her. The two begin fighting and Stafford pulls out a knife and attempts to kill her with it. But, she dodges and plunges the blade in his stomach. She begins to grieve for Angela, but at that moment, Walker comes in and tells her that she's okay and the two have a tearful reunion. Afterwards, Bobby becomes a Texas ranger and she is able to make peace with her demons.
